On June 3, 2025, DanGui Forum: Cutting-Edge Synthetic Chemistry was successfully held at the College of Chemistry, Central China Normal University. The forum invited scientists from home and abroad in the field of synthetic chemistry and related disciplines, including Prof. Michael Wills from the University of Oxford, Prof. Rongrong Hu from South China University of Technology, Prof. Min Zhang from Chongqing University, Prof. Tiezheng Jia from Southern University of Science and Technology, Prof. Ge Zhang from Northeast Normal University, and Prof. Faguang Zhang from Tianjin University. The attending experts presented cutting-edge topics, the latest research progress, and academic frontiers in synthetic chemistry from various perspectives and engaged in in-depth academic discussions with participating faculty and students. Prof. Jiarong Chen delivered the opening speech, and the forum was co-chaired by Prof. Liangqiu Lu and Res. Zhihan Zhang from the College of Chemistry.

On the morning of June 3, Prof. Jiarong Chen extended a warm welcome on behalf of the institute, followed by academic presentations hosted by Prof. Liangqiu Lu. Prof. Michael Wills from the University of Oxford presented a lecture titled New Groups for Synthetic and Discovery Chemistry; Prof. Rongrong Hu from South China University of Technology presented a lecture titled Multicomponent Polymerization; Prof. Min Zhang from Chongqing University presented a lecture titled Development of Homo-Mannich Reaction and Its Applications in Total Synthesis of Indole Alkaloids.

In the afternoon, hosted by Res. Zhihan Zhang, Prof. Tiezheng Jia from Southern University of Science and Technology presented a lecture titled Biologically Oriented Approaches in Sulfur Chemistry; Prof. Ge Zhang from Northeast Normal University presented a lecture titled High-Valent Cobalt-Hydride-Mediated Asymmetric Transformation of Olefins; and Prof. Faguang Zhang from Tianjin University presented a lecture titled Chemical/Enzymatic Synthesis of Fluorinated Compounds.

Following the conclusion of all six academic presentations, DanGui Forum: Cutting-Edge Synthetic Chemistry at CCNU successfully came to a close.
